Casual eats and cold beer
Located in the developing "Southtown" La Tuna is a great destination to wander to after exploring downtown. Order a frosty cold beer and grab a seat outside. When the kitchen is open be sure to sample one of their great menu items. The lamb Sandwich is amazing so flavorful and tender. Save room for the White Chocolate Cherry Bread Pudding.

Government canyon state natural area
Close to the hotel on the north side of San Antonio, escape from the noise of the city and explore 12,000 acres that boasts over 40 miles of trails. Not that you'd want to, when you have a wonderful room here at the resort, but camping is allowed in the state park. Trails are suitable for walking, running and mountain biking. Some trails take you past historic home built in 1880, historic native american sites and even dinosaur tracks. For our smallest guests there's a native play scape built with rocks and tree branches and can work to complete the Junior ranger activity journal to earn a badge.
Entrance tot he park is $6 a day for adults over 13, children 12 and under are free. Texas State Parks Pass holders enter for no charge. |
